In Progress: Residential 7 Plex Mult-Unit Conversion

Previously a detached single-family home, this property had a good foundation to convert the existing framework into a multiplex rental property. We’re in progress to convert this property into a multiplex residential property with 6 rental suites: 4 x 1-bedroom suites and 1 x 2-bedroom suite, with a shared laundry room.

This lot has a separate garage with a laneway entrance was located behind the property. Over time, it had become an old storage unit that was rarely visited. The previous garage was taking over 25% of the rear yard area. We demolished the existing garage structure and converted the rear yard space to contain a 600 sq ft single laneway rental suite. The laneway home optimized 40% of the rear yard space while still providing sufficient driveway space and space between the laneway home and the main property.
