This East York single-family home was converted from a 3-bedroom, 2-bath home with an unfinished basement into a modern triplex featuring two above-grade units and a fully finished basement unit, each with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Originally planned as a duplex, this project was changed to a triplex during construction when the owners secured permits for an additional basement unit.
This conversion required the existing home to be fully gutted and many of the existing structural elements had to be strengthened, reinforced, or reengineered. This allowed us to update other out-dated systems throughout the structure including electrical wiring, plumbing infrastructure and a brand new HVAC system. By updating the core infrastructure, we are not only meeting today’s building code requirements but also providing greater energy efficiency, safety and comfort.
